This was a difficult site and required more work than a typical Dollar General entails. We were contracted to do the clearing, grubbing, E & S controls, site excavation, stormwater, sanitary lines, and water line for the project.
There were two existing water courses to be enclosed to build the project. This presented some challenges as heavy rain caused issues several times for the site. There was 10,000 CY of cut/fill to be done on the site. Unsuitable soil was found which made the project even more challenging.
Continual washouts due to additional upstream surcharge water created an issue for the owner on several occasions. Berkebile ended up doing stormwater damage cleanup on several occasions and a final fix was to replace existing rip rap with larger rip rap, grouted in place.
